Conspiracy .. Yet, again..

1. Lizard People:

When it comes to the Reptilian Overlords, there is no significant partisan gap between Republicans and Democrats. Two percent of Obama voters, and 5% of Romney voters, said that they believed in lizard people, which brings the overall number among Americans to 4%. David Ickle would be proud.

"meet the new boss... same as the old boss..." - Pete Townsend of the WHO

President Obama shamelessly defended National Security Agency surveillance programs Friday, saying they are designed to promote public safety and protect civil liberties.

"They help us prevent terrorist attacks," Obama said, and are valuable despite what he called "modest encroachments on privacy."

People can "complain about Big Brother" and the potential of a "program run amok," Obama said, "but when you actually look at the details, then I think we've struck the right balance."

The president said he welcomes a renewed debate between the need for public safety and concerns about privacy, adding "there are some trade-offs" involved.

"It's important to recognize that you can't have 100% security and also then have 100% privacy and zero inconvenience," Obama said.

Civil libertarians raised questions about the scope and risks of the programs.

"The bottom line is that we have to defend ourselves from terrorism, but we don't have to do it in a way that allows the government to accumulate information on literally tens of millions of innocent Americans," Sen Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., said Thursday night.

"The secrecy surrounding the government's extraordinary surveillance powers has stymied our system of checks and balances," said Laura Murphy, director of the Washington legislative office of the American Civil Liberties Union.

She added: "Congress must initiate an investigation to fully uncover the scope of these powers and their constraints, and it must enact reforms that protect Americans' right to privacy and that enable effective public oversight of our government."

Fake California UFO photo fools Ohio TV news

The Camera360 phone app strikes again. Ohio’s WMFD News recently featured the story of a man who said he captured a UFO in a picture he took with his tablet while vacationing in California. However, the UFO image is one that comes with the Camara360 photo app for smartphones.

Open Minds recently featured other UFO and alien photos that were taken with this app and purported to be real. We were even approached at the UFO Congress by a young woman who said she had caught an alien in a photograph, but it turned out to be a joke she was playing on us and her parents using the Camera360 app.

Camera360 is a smartphone app that allows the user to manipulate photos taken on their phones. Among other effects, it lets the user add aliens and UFOs to their images. Unfortunately, it makes hoaxing a convincing picture very simple. However, WMFD should not feel too bad. News agencies across the world have been fooled by these pictures recently, including as far a Thailand and Indonesia.

Many of the hoaxers can be very convincing. Such is the case of Tom Young from Mansfield, Ohio. He told news reporters that he was visiting friends in San Carlos, California, and decided to take a picture of the beautiful view from their balcony. When he looked at the picture later, he says he was surprised to find a classically shaped flying saucer.

He told WMFD News that he doesn’t believe in extraterrestrials. He thinks the disc shaped object is advanced technology built right here on Earth. . . .

Atacama Humanoid..

 via: http://swallowingthecamel.wordpress.com/tag/conspiracy-theory/

Greer’s alien was discovered by a treasure-hunter back in 2003, in the ghost town of La Noria in Chile’s Atacama desert (interestingly, a place considered similar to the Martian surface). The dessicated little skeleton, which is no longer than a pen yet has perfect proportions, was found buried  in a ribbon-tied bit of cloth near La Noria’s Catholic church. It had well-formed teeth, nine ribs, and a strangely elongated skull. The tabloids in Chile joked about a “horrible dwarf extraterrestrial”, but no serious interest was shown in the “Atacama humanoid”. It changed hands a few times, eventually ending up in Spain.
That’s where it came to the attention of Dr. Greer, an American ufologist best-known for founding the Disclosure Project. He probably heard about the humanoid during the Exopolitical Symposium held near Barcelona in 2009 (he was a presenter). Last year, he announced that his Center for the Study of ET Intelligence had gained access to the body, and would need funding to carry out scientific tests. He released a single photo and an X-ray of the “humanoid”, failing to mention it had already been in the Chilean tabloid press nine years earlier. In late October, he announced the body had been examined by “experts” using X-rays and CT scans, but still wouldn’t release more photos or give the names of the scientists working with him. For a disclosure advocate, Greer doesn’t like to disclose much. He would only say that “one of the world’s top geneticists” was studying DNA samples from the alien, and the “world’s foremost authority on skeletal abnormalities” had pronounced the skeleton non-human.

Steven Greer has a – how shall I put this? – rather checkered history in the field of UFO studies. He has promised big things before, with no payoff:

Fake Moon ..

Facts and Info about the Fake Moon Landing Hoax Conspiracy Theory

Information and Facts about theories supporting the view that the Moon Landings were a Fake, a Hoax, a Conspiracy Theory...

Facts and Info about the Moon Landing
via: http://www.findfast.org/science-moon-landing-conspiracy-hoax-theory.htm
The date of the moon landing was July 20th 1969. Two of the three astronauts, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, travelled on Apollo 16 approximately 1/4 million miles to set foot on the moon surface from the Eagle Lander. Neil Armstrong spoke the famous words "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." The 'Giant Leap for mankind' has been questioned perhaps because the Russians never sent a man to the moon and that, even nearly forty years later, there are still no American plans for a return visit. UFOs.. Brazil.

via: http://conspiracy.wikia.com/wiki/Varginha_UFO

Timeline of eventsEdit

January 20th, 1996
Friends Kátia Andrade Xavier, Liliane and Valquíria Fátima Silva spotted a biped with large red eyes, triangle feet, brown skin and a large head with a thin body. They said they had seen the devil as it was wobbly (the girls thought it was sick) and smelled terrible. Their mother at first didn't believe them but upon visiting the site, she smelled ammonia and left.
An alternate story is that several boys found the alien and began throwing rocks at it. The fire department (whose job is to catch stray animals) was alerted and captured it.
January 22nd, 1996
Rumor spread that another body was found lying on near a road and three military trucks picked it up. This trucks are believed to belong to S2 Officials (Brazil's intelligence agency). They brought the body to a hospital to examine supposedly.

AftermathEdit

Officials from Brazil's military tried to debunk the events but an auto mechanic came forward saying he saw a cylindrical UFO. Stanton Friedman believed the incident would turn into Watergate Scandal but of galactic scale.
Vitorio Pacaccini argued that he had confirmation of the aliens from anonymous government sources. Brazilian soldier Marco Eli Cherese is believed to have been killed in connection to the sightings. Matt Morfett of the Wall Street Journal wrote the there have been at least 12 sightings.
